How To Fix Your Laptop Fan Always On
Laptop fan is an important component of the system which is used to cool down the system When the temperature of the laptop increase then the fan start working and it automatically adjusts fan speed according to the temperature. However, sometime it will not work due corrupting of the system software or due to bad configuration. So in this article, I will show you how to fix your laptop to work.
Follow These Steps to Fix it.
Step 1: In Windows 10 Go to Start > Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional power settings
Go to Control > Hardware and Sound > Power Options
Step 2: When Power option open Click on “Change Plan Settings” in the list battery plan you selected.
Step 3: Now Click “Change advanced power settings” to customize the additional power setting.
Step 4: First of all make sure that you select to the currently active plan, then Click “processor power management”, and then click “System cooling policy” in the drop-down menu, For both Option of plugged IN and on battery click “Active”, Click on “Apply”, then Click “OK” to save the changes.
The setup is complete now. Then the fan will run as needed instead of running all the time.
What is Deference between Active and Passive?
In the power management settings, passive cooling means the computer slows the processor down before it increases the fan speed so that the temperature of the processor remains within the operational limits. Active cooling means It will increase the fan speed and try to keep the temperature down, However, if it starts to exceed the operational limits, it slows the processor down. As far as I know active uses more power, but I am unsure whether this is important to you. So in short word, I try to say that passive means to slows the processor, active means to uses the fan.
I Recommended to Set to Active to keep your laptop fan always ON.
