Disable Control Panel using Group Policy on Windows

You can disable the control panel by this nobody can access the control panel on windows computer. By this nobody can change the setting of the computer. You know that the Control Panel is the main center of the computer where you can change all the setting of the computer. Moreover, no one can change the user Accounts, System and Security, Hardware and Sound, Programs and features, etc.

That why window allows them to restrict the setting of the control panel that nobody can access it. You can restrict the control panel by Group Policy in windows

If you are using Windows 10, then it is the easiest way to restrict access to the Settings app and the Control Panel is to use the Local Group Policy Editor. Just follow these steps

  1. Press and hold Windows key + R to open Window Run Command.
  2. Now Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
  3. When Local Group Policy Editor:
  • User Configuration
  • Administrative
  • Templates
  • Control Panel
  1. Now Find Prohibit access to Control Panel and PC Settings on the right side of the policy and double-click on it.

  1. Select the Enabled

  2. Click OK.

 

That all now whenever you click on the control panel then control panel show or when open the setting apps then it will show this message “This operation has been canceled due to restriction. Please contact your system administrator.”

If you want to change the settings default, you should use the same steps of instruction, but on step 5, you should select the Not Configured option and click on the apply button.
